Eligibility and Application

Any undergraduate, graduate, or professional student who has a summer internship with educational or professional relevance in Atlanta. Recent graduates seeking housing will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We accept applications from recent law graduates who are studying for the Bar. If you select the private rate, we will automatically place you on this hall, which is generally a top floor to ensure the quietest atmosphere possible.
Sunday, May 19, 2024 through Saturday, August 3, 2024.
We require a minimum of thirty nights for anyone residing in a 4-bedroom or 2-bedroom apartment. If you are staying less than thirty nights, you must pay the private, one-bedroom apartment rate.
There is no specific application deadline. We accept applications on a first-come, first-serve basis until we have filled all our spots. Do not hesitate to contact our office to see if there is still availability! sihp@emory.edu or 404-727-7632
No. However, you must provide your internship’s contact person on your application so we can perform employment verification.
Please email us at sihp@emory.edu for more information. In many instances, businesses qualify for a discounted rate if they are paying for the interns housing.

Payment Information

The $250 pre-payment (due with the application) is applied toward your first payment installment.
  • First installment (May and June rent): 12pm the day before you arrive
  • Second installment (July and August rent): July 1st by 5pm (or arrival date if arriving after July 1st)
Note: you are charged on a nightly basis, so depending on your dates, you may not owe money for both installments.

For payments not made by the dates above, you will incur a late fee ($50/day for every day after the installment date) until the payment is made. If you fail to make the payment within 48 hours of the due date, an eviction notice will be posted on your apartment door, and you will be subject to other penalties.

Please contact the SIHP Manager at sihp@emory.edu or 404-727-7632 if you need to change your dates or cancel your application. ALL cancellations must be submitted in writing and at least 30 days prior to be eligible for any refund.

Cancellations:

  • If cancellation of all or part of a reservation is received by the office more than thirty (30) days prior to scheduled arrival, the full pre-payment will be refunded.
  • If the cancellation of all or part of the reservation is received by the office within fifteen (15) to thirty (30) days prior to scheduled arrival, 30% of the payment for the number of nights reserved for the cancelled portion will be due.
  • If cancellation of all or part of the reservation is received by the office on or within fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled arrival, 50% of the number of nights reserved for the cancelled portion will be due.

Date Changes:

  • You may change the dates of your stay if the request is received by June 30 at 5:00pm or the date of the payment of the full balance, whichever occurs first. Please note that you may be subject to a penalty.
  • After June 30, no refunds will be issued for early moveouts.
  • Request to stay additional nights, so long as the moveout date is still within the dates of the SIHP program, may be accommodated and will need approval by the SIHP Manager.
  • If you have already moved in, the SIHP Manager may not approve of date change requests, and you will be responsible for the payment of your balance as indicated above.
The Summer Intern Housing Program is not covered by financial aid.
